Blue Mantis Unveils New Cybersecurity Service For The Midmarket

Blue Mantis Protect offers nine distinct security services.

IT services provider Blue Mantis on Wednesday announced its new managed cybersecurity service for midsized businesses called Blue Mantis Protect.

The new offering combines “AI-powered threat detection with decades of human cybersecurity expertise,” Blue Mantis said in a news release.

Blue Mantis Protect was built to meet the “specific requirements” of midmarket organizations, Blue Mantis CEO Josh Dinneen explained in the news release.

“Midmarket organizations face the same cybersecurity threats as large enterprises, but often without the in-house resources to defend against them,” Dinneen said. “Mantis Protect is purpose-built to close that gap and strengthen their defense posture, delivering enterprise-grade protection without the capital and operational burden of running an in-house SOC.”

Blue Mantis has been intentional with its midmarket focus. The midmarket is “a big span of marketing segment for us,” Dinneen said in an interview with MES Computing last year.

“The midmarket for us is where we can really leverage our entire product portfolio ... whether we’re coming in to help them modernize in any capacity, whether it’s to a specific domain or more of a comprehensive business transformation, we can help them better,” he said.

Within the midmarket is the demand to modernize networks “which is the underpinnings to do a lot of the things that we want to do around cybersecurity,” Dinneen said. “The challenge with AI is if you can crack AI from a cyber perspective, you have the keys to the kingdom. So really making sure that you’re designing security into those environments intentionally. And then manage your data, enable your data ... make it usable for AI.”

Mantis Protect comprises nine solutions that the company says can be deployed collectively or independently. The solutions include:

• Managed Detection and Response (MDR)
• Managed Endpoint detection and response/extended detection and response) (EDR/XDR)
• Managed email security
• Managed Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP)
• Managed Secure Service Edge (SSE)
• Threat hunting
• Vulnerability management
• Dark web monitoring
• Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) as a Service
