SonicWall Wednesday unveiled its latest Generation 8 firewall lineup.

The lineup includes eight new firewalls. Features include “advanced protection, intelligent cloud management, zero-trust security, and expert-based services for a single monthly price,” SonicWall said in a news release.

The announcement comes in the wake of recent reports about SonicWall’s legacy Gen 7 firewalls.

Earlier this month, some security researchers reported that the Gen 7 firewalls were exposed to cyberattacks due to a zero-day vulnerability exploit, MES Computing’s sister site CRN reported.

SonicWall challenged the researchers’ findings, saying only a small number of the devices were compromised, and that any threat activity was not related to a zero-day vulnerability, CRN also reported.

The Gen 8 firewall form factors range from the ultra-compact TZ280 model to the premium NSa 5800.

The devices ship with the SonicWall Unified Management interface. The firewalls can also ship with SonicWall’s Managed Protection Security Suite (MPSS) for an additional cost.

In addition, the firewalls come with embedded zero-trust licenses and a cyber warranty that provides $200,000 coverage for every firewall managed through MPSS.

“We’re not just delivering a new set of high-performance firewalls, we’re preparing our partners and their customers for the latest threats and market requirements,” said Bob VanKirk, president and CEO of SonicWall, in a news release.

“Our new firewall lineup is just one part of a broader, unified platform strategy. With SonicWall Unified Management, embedded ZTNA, the SonicSentry managed services team, and the industry’s first built-in cyber warranty, we’re helping partners shift from resellers to high-value security providers. This launch arms our partners with the tools they need to win more business and strengthen customer trust by providing market-leading cybersecurity protection,” VanKirk added.
