5 Hot Network Appliances For The Midmarket

These devices serve as a fit for midmarket IT operations and are also built with some of the newest innovations in networking hardware.

Despite the rise of Network-as-as-Service and other cloud providers, many midmarket organizations still run a hybrid of on-premise and cloud computing infrastructures.

A report from April 2025 from virtualization company Parallels, that surveyed more than 600 IT leaders in Q4 2024 about their end-user computing and cloud strategies, found that most midsize organizations are more likely to adopt a hybrid infrastructure strategy, involving cloud, virtualization, and on-premises.

Which means many midmarket organizations are still shopping for network hardware. These devices can range from access points to network-connected UPCs.

Here are some of the latest network appliances targeted to the midmarket. Not only can they serve as a fit for midmarket IT operations, but they are also built with some of the newest innovations in networking hardware.

5 Hot Network Appliances For Midmarket IT To Know

CyberPower PFC Sinewave 1U Rackmount UPS Series

CyberPower’s PFC Sinewave 1U Rackmount UPS series is a lineup of power management appliances.

In addition to providing batter backup (using sine wave output), the devices also include EMI/RFI (electro magnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) for security systems, A/V equipment, and networking devices.

Other features include Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR), a color LCD multifunction control panel, and optional remote management and monitoring.

The series includes the following models: CP500PFCRM1U, CP700PFCRM1U, CP1000PFCRM1U, and the CP1500PFCRM1U.

HPE Networking Instant On Secure Gateway SG2505P

Hewlett Packard Enterprise recently announced a new offering in its Instant On lineup of gateway appliances targeting small business and the midmarket.

The HPE Networking Instant On Secure Gateway offers intelligent monitoring, filtering, and network traffic monitoring, at what HPE says is a lower hardware price point for smaller organizations.

The latest Instant On Secure Gateway ships in two SKUs. The HPE Networking Instant On Secure Gateway SG1004 supports 1GB network connectivity, has four ports with features that include routing, firewall, VPN, and IDS/IPS.

The HPE Networking Instant On Secure Gateway SG2505P supports multi-GB connectivity, has five ports, and includes all the features of the SG1004, plus Power-over-Ethernet capabilities.

Synology Active-active NVMe all-flash storage: PAS7700

The PAS7700 is Taiwanese-based Snology’s recently announced enterprise storage appliance that the company says is built for “mission-critical workloads.”

The device is designed with a dual-controller, with 48 NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) bays in a 4U chassis, and scales to 1.68PB of raw storage capacity.

The NVMe architecture supports up to 2 million IOPS and sub-millisecond latency, according to Synology, providing three times the performance of existing Synology models, the company said on its site.

Features include support for several file and block protocols including NVME-oF, redundant memory upgradable to 2,048GB across both controllers, and 100 GbE network connectivity.

VDURA V5000 All-Flash Appliance

VDURA, formerly known as Panasas, and provider of high-performance data storage solutions, recently announced the launch of its V5000 All-Flash Appliance, designed to address growing demands for complex AI applications and environments.

The appliance is built on the VDURA V11 data platform, encompassing VDURA V11 software and is available on “the new 'F Node,' a modular 1U platform with Intelligent Client-Side Erasure Coding—delivering over 1.5PB per rack unit,” the company said in a news release

The system “delivers GPU-saturating throughput while ensuring the durability and availability of data for 24x7x365 operation conditions,” according to the news release.

The platform is built with parallel file system (PFS) architecture and supports virtually limitless GPU clustering, providing high-performance computing (HPC), storage expansion, and fault tolerance.

Zyxel WBE630S BE12300 WiFi 7 Tri-Band Dual-Radio NebulaFlex Pro Access Point

Zyxel’s latest enterprise access point is a dual-radio AP that supports theoretical throughput speeds of up to 12.3Gbps. The WBE630S also features a Qualcomm quad-core CPU.

The AP is built with a BandFlex radio that supports the 2.4, 5, and 6GHz bands. A Smart Antenna feature adjusts antenna patterns for optimized performance. Two additional features, MLO and Advanced Cellular Coexistence combine to both enable data transmission across all three supported radio bands, and to minimize 4G/5G network interference.

The device can be managed as a standalone AP, through an on-premises controller, or through the cloud.
