Rubrik, Cisco Unveil New Cybersecurity Partnership
Rubrik has been making some big moves amid the demand for data security.
Rubrik, a cybersecurity company with a focus on zero-trust data security, Thursday unveiled a new partnership with Cisco Systems.
The partnership is two-fold. The first part is that Rubrik is now part of Cisco’s SolutionsPlus Program, which means that all of Rubrik’s products and services including its Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) offering, have been added to Cisco’s Global Price List, Rubrik said in a news release. The Global Price List offers product price information for worldwide customers and partners.
Second, as part of SolutionsPlus, Cisco’s partners can now offer Rubrik Security Cloud with Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) and Cisco XDR.
“Complex, siloed systems create gaps in visibility that hinder operations and slow down organizations’ ability to detect and respond to threats,” said Jeremy Foster, senior vice president and general manager of Cisco Compute, in a news release. “Cisco and Rubrik are delivering threat detection and data context in one place, enabling security teams to effectively prioritize critical attacks and respond to them quickly. This partnership reflects our commitment to providing unified, modern solutions on computing infrastructure that simplifies operations and empowers organizations to protect and derive more value from their data.”
Rubrik has been making gains in the cybersecurity market since its launch in 2014. The midmarket is a big focus for the company, Rubrik Chief Product Officer Anneka Gupta told MES Computing in a recent interview.
The company’s DSPM offering aims to reduce data exposure and exfiltration risk across on-premises, cloud and SaaS environments. A major goal of Rubrik’s when creating its services is ease of use, Gupta said.
"What we have done with our products is really focus down on how do we create simplicity without removing the power and flexibility such that you can easily get up and running, you can easily monitor your environment, you can easily take action without having to do copious amounts of investigation, without having to manage copious amounts of infrastructure and going through multiple [user interfaces] and multiple different experiences to try to take that action that you need to take," Gupta said.
“We’ve seen feedback among our midmarket customers that it’s just so easy. And that has enabled our customers to free up a lot of their time, often hours, sometimes days of time a week, to be able to focus on other areas that are part of their jobs, that require a lot more thinking or strategy so that they’re not just having to spend their entire day managing the day to day of their infrastructure,” she added.
Rubrik’s focus on data security is part of a fast-growing segment of the cybersecurity market. One report estimates the data security market at $28.88 billion as of 2024 and is expected to reach $68.29 billion by 2029.
